Breast Cancer
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in women around the world. It is a type of cancer that starts in one breast and can spread to the other. Not all breast cancers are the same, your doctor will determine your cancer treatment plan based on the specific type of breast cancer you have.
Breast cancer can be diagnosed as “early” or “metastatic.” With early breast cancer, the tumors are only present in the breast or lymph nodes near the breast. The cancer has not spread to different parts of the body. Metastatic cancer is one that has spread to other parts of the body. This means that the cancer is no longer only in the breast.
If you do not know what type of breast cancer you have, an oncologist (a doctor who specializes in treating cancer) can help.
